We would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year from all of us to all of you.  We hope your New Year will be filled with peace and joy and all good things and that you will continue to spend time with us, your fellow Book Addicts, feeding and supporting your addiction discovering new books and generally having fun.

Just a couple of things we wanted to bring to your attention:

Since we are at the end of the 2008, and getting ready for a new Book Group year, some of the book group threads will be reorganised to make way for the new ones.

Remember also to finish up your 2008 “52 books” and “52 movies” threads and get your new 2009 ones started before January 1st.

Will be hosted by first time host, Bloodwings, so please dust off your copy and give her your support by signing up for the group and joining us for the discussion.

Paranormal Social Club book discussion will be Veil of Midnight – Lara Adrian.  This is book five in the Midnight Breeds series and will be published on 30th December 2008.

Please beg, steal, buy, borrow, or root around on your bookshelves until you find these books and make sure you are ready to get reading and chatting when the discussions start after the New Year.  More details will follow shortly, this is just advance notice.

Reading Challenges

For everyone who enjoyed reading and writing about their 52 books this year, and everyone who missed out, 2009 brings us even more reading challenges!  Go start your own “Reading Challenges” thread in the 2009 Reading Challenges board and let’s get started!  You can find more information about 2009 Reading Challenges in the stickied thread in that section.

2009 The Longlist

You can find the books that made it through to our Longlist in the 2009 Book Group board.  Not all of the 60 books are going to make it to the shortlist unfortunately but you can still volunteer to host a discussion if you see one of your favourites on the list.
